In Oklahoma there are two different types of expungement: a Section 911c expungement and a Section 18 expungment. Each type requires different qualifications and will affect different records.
A Section 911c expungement is available for those that have received a deferred sentence and that completed all of the requirements of the deferred sentence. A Section 911c expungement will expunge the client's name from court records and will change their plea to "not guilty" in the records.
A Section 18 expungement actually seals the arrest record. However, the requirements to qualify for a Section 18 expungement are more strict.
There is something that Section 911c and Section 18 expungements have in common: only non-violent felonies may be expunged. Contact our office to see if you may qualify for an expungement.
