Small claims court is supposed to be designed for people to be able to represent themselves. Small Claim Affidavits can be obtained at the county courthouse. However, often it ends up being more complicated than many people are willing to deal with.

Representation in small claims court is done on a flat fee basis, plus the filing fees and process server fees. For the 2010 calendar year our fee is $600.00 for cases ranging up to $3,000 and $850.00 for cases from $3,000 to the maximum of $6,000. If you win your case, a percentage of your attorney fee may be recoverable from the other party.
